Everything But The Kitchen Sink: Clue 4...Update!

I thought I'd pop into the blog and show you my Clue 4 finish! Now, I have to stress that there is no pattern for the Mystery Quilt I'm doing with my small group. But you could easily (by doing some fun math) figure out how to assemble each block.  The blocks, unfinished, are 6 1/2 each. And I'm pretty positive that the gal in my quilt group who is releasing each clue, is using the Mystery Quilt 2020 by Laundry Basket Quilts as inspiration. She's just adding more elements to each block. As of right now, I'm behind, because Clue #6 just release and I'm still working on Clue #5. But I hope to have those finished today! Fingers crossed!

Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Last week my small group decided to do a Mystery Quilt the is being hosted by a quilter within the group. I've decided to name my quilt 'Everything but the Kitchen Sink' because it literally is every scrap I have in my stash. My friend Reitha and I decided to make ours scrappy...Scrappy Quilts are the best! The blocks pictured were from the first clue.
Here's a picture of the first and second clues together..they are the four corners of the quilt top.
Next up was clue #3 which is pictured in the middle along with clue's 1 & 2. The blocks shown in the upper left corner are the corner placement in the quilt top. Before the next block is released, I plan on giving my scrap bin a toss and get a new variety to play with.
Just a side view;)
I'm excited to see the development of my Everything but the Kitchen Sink Quilt and I also hope it'll turn out good...especially since we were only suppose to have 3 colors or 3 colorways for our quilts...but I like doing things differently..kinda like a quilt rebel;)

Project Update ~ April 2020

I hope this blog post finds you well and creating all the things! I thought I'd pop in and show some of the stitchy things I've been working on!
First up is a Mystery Quilt that my small quilting group is doing together..I decided to go scrappy with mine. I think the 3rd clue comes out tomorrow and I'm excited to get started on it! Most of these scraps are from my Long Time Gone Quilt.
On Easter Sunday, I started stitching Long May She Wave by Blackbird Designs. The chart came out back in 2011 and was in a magazine that was called Cross Stitch and Needlepoint Magazine. I'm stitching in on 32 count Doubloon by Picture This Plus with a variety of threads.
I also finished a small table topper made from a Frivols Tin called Alelier and is from fabric by French General. Now it just needs quilting!
My rotation brought in Brian's Stocking and I was able to get a little further along...this is called Victorian Father Christmas by Stoney Creek Magazine Summer 2015..I'm stitching it on 28 count White Lugana with the called for everything!
I continued on with my Anniversaries of The Heart Series and finished A Wish For You by Blackbird Designs. I dedicated this block to my in-laws, Robert and Annette!
A closer view;)
My progress on Queen of Freedom by Mirabilla...She's looking so good!! I'm stitching her on 32 count Vintage Sahara with the called for everything!

Thanks for stopping by!

Madam Cottontail ~ Finish!

Once again it's been a while since I've posted anything! Last week I had a fun little finish! I started Madam Cottontail by With Thy Needle and Thread back in February. It was such a fun little project to stitch! I finished her using the Twisted Stitchers Stand Up Finishing Tutorial.
I stitched Madam Cottontail on a piece of 36 count Wren, 2 over 2 with a variety of over dyed threads. The cording was made out of some vintage DMC Threads my Grandma gave me a few years back.  I love how it turned out and now I have a cute Easter/Spring decoration to enjoy for years to come!
