Hello Winter ~ December 23, 2018

Hello Stitchy Friends,

I'm back with a fun little finish!
This one is Hello Winter by Plum Street Samplers!  I stitched it on 36 count Smoky Blue Linen with a combo of DMC, GAST and CC Threads.  I'm totally over the moon about that fabric!  Once it was finished, I mounted it onto a piece sticky board...mounted a piece of black gingham on stitchy board and attached them together.  Then I glued two washers to the back and popped it onto the magnets already attached to the front of my wooden box. Once Christmas is over, I will fill the box up with wintery foliage that I hope will still be available at the Dollar Tree or Michael's.

I'm so pleased with how it turned out!  I love the little sheep with a red cardinal on his back, wouldn't it make a cute ornament?  Well that about wraps it up for this post!  This afternoon my kiddo is helping me decorate a little Dollar Store tree that I've had for a long while.  We are going to attempt to give it some Christmas pizzaz...wish us luck!

Thank for stopping by,
Olivia

Christmas Home Tour 2018

It's very nearly Christmas and I thought I'd give you a little peek inside my Holiday home!  Now, it's not as fabulous as some that I've seen so far this year...but it's mine and I love it!
By now you've probably guessed that I love Christmas Trees!  I have quite a few of them now...but there is always room for one or seven more;) The quilt you see hanging in the background is one of my favorites!
The main Christmas Tree is all decorated with ornaments collected over the years!
Santa Tree is decorated!
A cozy little corner!
My Vintage Christmas Tree tucked away in the corner.  My grandma gave me lots of the ornaments that decorate it and I love each and every one of them!
Still figuring out my 3 tiered tray.  I definitely need to start collecting little items for it next year.
My Prairie Schooler Santa House Wreath!  So happy I stitched him!
Did I mention I have a thing for Christmas Trees?;)

Can't remember what this one was called, but it's by Crabapple Hill Studios!
Still more Christmas Trees!
This is my newest mini quilt and super special to me as it was made by my wonderfully talented friend Reitha! I love his Sugar Skull scarf!!

Well that about wraps it up for my Christmas Home Tour...I think everything comes together to create a cozy little home!  There was one little thing I couldn't get a good picture of because the light from outside was making everything so gloomy inside.  Tomorrow I'll try and take a better picture of it and pop in a blog post about it...mostly because it was a stitchy finish that I'm totally over the moon about!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Merry Christmas!

It's been a wee bit! ~ December 17th, 2018

December has kinda flown by in a sparkly tinsel whirlwind!  We are about a week out from Christmas and I've still got a bit of sewing left to do.  A few of my stitchy plans had to be scrapped due to time.  I'm a little bummed that I had to give them the axe but, there just isn't enough hours in the day to get everything done that I wanted to.  However I do have a new Christmas finish to show you!
I finished Sampler Claus by Lizzie Kate!  It turned out so cute!  I stitched him on 32 count Cashel Linen with a mixture of GAST, CC and DMC Threads.  Finishing inspiration goes to Priscilla of https://priscillas2000.blogspot.com/2018/12/the-mice-jumped-in-flour-siifter.html  I was having a hard time decided on finishing for my Sampler and when I saw Priscilla's mice finish, I knew that was how I was going to finish Santa!  I used an old Dollar Store Christmas canister that I've had since Allison was a baby and using things around the house...I finished Santa!  I absolutely love how it turned out and now it's happly displayed next to my new pencil Christmas Tree(my one splurge this Christmas season).  I plan on doing a Christmas Home Tour tomorrow, so look for that post very soon!

I also have another finish to share with you, but that will come later this week.  The lighting is terrible where it's at, otherwise it would have been in this blog post.  I hope you all have had a very productive few weeks and I'll see you in a day or two!

Happy Stitching
Olivia
